Noble Quran Tafsir| Surah al-Kauther Tafseer for kids Step by step. The word Kauthar comes from the word kathir numerous or plentiful) and literally means [a source of great] abundance. Surah Al-kauther speaks about the river and abundance given to our Prophet Muhammad SAW.
Step 1.
The introduction of the surah Al-Kauther is People of Makkah were got enemy of Prophet SAW when he tried to Spread Islam. They were trying to stop spreading Islam. They followed many tricks but failed. Mean Our Holy Prophet SAW son died.
When the only male offspring of our prophet died, the disbelievers of Makkah got a chance to make fun of our prophet and say that Muhammad’s generation is gone. Then Allah revealed SurahAl-kauther and consoled our beloved Prophet and also promised Kusar (many good wishes)
Step 2
So We did word to word Translation and then full Translation was done where Pictures helped us in Understanding the theme of Surah Al-kauther. So far kids have been taught the meaning of words as well as the activity that the race is not run by a boy or a girl but the race is run by faith.
Step 3
The second day we did some tafseer from the Book ‘Islamic studies’ It is a great read to understand background of Surah and the power of Allah.. kids have been taught that those who mock our beloved Prophet will one day be burned by their own fire, and in the Hereafter there is a greater torment for them. Kids have been taught what to do if someone makes fun of them. We do not have to answer, nor do we have to worry in our hearts, but we have to put our hearts and minds towards that great and glorious paradise that will be the reward of patience done today. Kids have been taught how important prayer and sacrifice are in Islam.
Prayer gives us the courage to endure the hardships that come our way and by sacrificing, the love of the world and wealth disappear from our hearts Children have been taught the meaning of goodness, what is the real good, the blessings of this world or the everlasting paradise of the hereafter.
Step 4
Revision, discussion, The children were told in detail about surah Al-kauther Canal, that the Kausar Canal would be given by Allah to our beloved Prophet as a reward. On the Day of Resurrection, our Prophet will drink water from his thirsty ummah from Kausar canal.
Whoever drinks water once will never feel thirsty again. The water of Kusar canal will be sweeter than honey, whiter than milk, and colder than ice, and there will be as many glasses for drinking water as there are stars in the sky. But the people who will bring new things in Islam will not get a drop of water from that river.
Step 5
The exercise was done. Where children recite Surah Al-kauther by heart with translation and Kausar canal was drawn and infographics were done.
Step 6
Activities
Then also do read a story from the book, ‘My first Quran stories book’. This story helps us to understand the topic of the hadith and its implementation in our daily life. A story and various activities are conducted along with it. Mission and purpose of life is important. If we have any mission our followers and our team members would continue it, nor our generations.
Activity 1
Activity is done in the Class of surah AL-Kauther. Write done the name of your father and forefathers. But Alaas !!! Students only knew the name of their fathers and grandfather (even some don’t know what is the name of their grandfathers). One of them made this. I’m happy for her. She wrote the name of her great fore father as well.

We should live with good name not with bad memories like Namrood, firaoon, Abu jahal and Abu Lahab who is even cursed in Quran. Our Prophet got great Abundance and Muslims do remember him 5 time in a day in Prayers and in many other ways. Alhamdolilah. So He is not forgotten but his enemy.
Activity 2
Drawing of River kauther. I know we can’t Imagine how would be like. But to tempt children and make a wish of getting its water, we supposed to draw it. And it is what they drew according to their Imaginations. Subhan Allah.
Step 7
Now its time to mind map the Surah Al-kauther Surah Al-kauther’s theme is great abundance and blessings to Our Holy prophet from Allah. Al-Kauthar is the 108th chapter of the Quran which was revealed to Prophet Muhammad in Mecca, therefore, it is called a Makki surah. Surah Al-kauther is the shortest surah in the Quran which is found in the final juz of the Quran, juz 30. The word Kawthar comes from the word kathir numerous or plentiful) and literally means [a source of great] abundance. This surah speaks about how God has gifted Prophet Muhammad a source of great abundance and blessing.

Step 1. Recitation of Surah
Alhamdulillah. The class starts with the beautiful recitation of Surah…Almost all children already have memorized this surah because of is short and of its excellency.
Step 2. Introduction of the Surah
The first lesson was the introduction to Surah. To learn Islam online children need to be engaged in different activities. So we use books and other resources for a good interactive class. In the book, Islamic education, the introduction of the Surah was told. This is a short introduction to Surah.
This surah was revealed to answer the Makkan. They were idol worshipers and had many gods. They used to make their own gods with wood, stone, and mud. For them, it was a very surprising thing to believe in one god. Their gods had big families and they were assigned different duties. So there were Questions like. Who is your god? What is he made of? Who is his Father? Who is his son? Where he lives. Why we can’t see him? etc.
So Surah Ikhlas was revealed to introduce Allah SWT. So a term was used for kids. This Surah is an introduction to Allah SWT. So this surah will teach us about Allah and his oneness.
Step 3. The message or theme of surah Ikhlas
The message of this Surah is Towheed. That Allah is the only one. He is the lord and creator of the universe. So he is running this universe all alone. He could not be like mankind. Allah doesn’t need to eat, sleep, or have a family. So a chapter of Towheed was already done. We can relate.
The chapter on towhead could be seen in the other post. Here are some pictures from that chapter. (From the book ‘Islamic education grade 4 ) These pictures show that the attributions of Allah and powers of Allah like tightening sight power, hearing,, and knowing are His own. He gave us a very small share of His powers as a gift. So Allah is one Lord, Allah, and Rub. These three terms are explained in the Towheed chapter.
Step 4. Word-to-word translation of the surah
Now it’s time to understand verse by verse and word by word. We used my First Quran with pictures Bookfor Translation. So we do write word meanings on screen share. Children have to note and memorize the meanings. pictures help us to Understand easily. Children can Use the book to write meanings or notebooks where they write Arabic with meanings. See Pictures
Step 5. Translation of Surah Ikhlas
Now after well understanding and explaining the word meanings and message of Surah we do a full translation from the Other Islamic studies book. Now it’s time to recite the Surah by heart with Translation.
Step 6. Chapter of Surah / Tafseer
For Tafseer and discussions, we read this chapter from Ilsamic Education book. As The introduction and other information about the surah were already delivered to the children. The introduction, the terms, and the excellency of surah were done. Now Children do read the text straight and take an active part in discussions.
Step 7. Exercise
It’s time to assess. We got this exercise from the book Islamic education and solved it. . Here is a picture of the Surah Ikhlaas chapter. But we also do a revision of word-to-word translation and full translation. Children recite every verse and then tell me word meanings and translations of verses.
Step 8. The excellence of Surah Ikhlaas
Now it’s time to tell the excellency of the SURAH. here are some notes from the chapter and Tafseer of Surah Ikhlas. It’s a very very important surah and 1/3 part of the Quran. Towheed is the 1/3 part of the Qur’an and its teachings are very clear.
So We are sure that children would strengthen their belief after covering this surah. When to read was also noted. Alhamdulillah. This surah is Also included in Morning and evening Azkar according to Hadith.
Step 9. Mind map.
When we did all activities we do a mind map of the Surah. From LIVEMUSLIM.ORG I got this beautiful mind map. Children enjoyed doing mind mapping of the surah. The mind map is a tried and useful method of putting things in lifelong memory. So In sha Allah children will never forget the meaning and message of the surah after doing a mind map. Step 10. Activities on Towheed
Here are some activities we did on towhead. These pictures were taken from the towhead chapter (Islamic studies)and discussed with the children. The three pillars of Towheed are shown in the drawing.

Allah is the only God whom we should worship. (Ilah)
Other activities.
Calligraphy of Allah’s names was done. So that children can understand the status of Allah. They can bond with Allah’s love and do work on Allah’s attributions.
Step 11. Stories For Children
Surah Ikhlass would be taught with the help of a special story. You can read the reflection of surah Ikhlas in a story here.
According to the chapter on Towheed and the topic of surah we read some stories from the Book ‘My First Qura’an story book’. This book has various stories about creations and prophets that are told in Quraan. So the stories like ‘In the Beginning,
The first man ‘ and ‘ The Pride of Iblees’ were told to the children. It helps them to enjoy the Towheed chapter and to understand the stories of creation and Knowing their lord. Alhamdulillah.

These are our online lessons for kids. We believe in practical work and new teaching methods to teach quran to our kids. That’s why we design our own activities and lessons to teach quran. Our activities are critical thinking based and these are long-term remembering.
Here on this page, you can see how we taught Surah tu Falaq and Surah tu Naas in our class. Translation and word meanings of these two Surahs will be done separately. But tafsir, activities, mind maps, and stories will be done for both.
Step 1- Introduction of Surah
On the first day, we recited the surah from the Book ‘ My first Quran with pictures’.
The introduction of these surahs is that these surahs are also named as AL-Mawudhatain, which means two protections. There is a story behind the revelation of these two Surahs. These two surahs are sister surahs and are revealed at the same time.
. The people of Makkah were got enemy of Prophet SAW when he tried to spread Islam. They were trying to stop spreading Islam.
They followed many tricks but failed. Then one of them practiced Black magic to make Prophet mentally sick. The prophet got sick.
Headache started to disturb Him and he started to forget things. Our Prophet could not understand what was happening to him.
But There was Allah SWT who sent His help. Angle Jibreal came there with Two Surah AL-NAAS and AL-FALAQ and told him about the Magic. Then the place of Magic was searched and Magic was disposed of with the help of this surah. Finally, He overcome all the black energies, Trick failed and He was more strong.
From that day Our Prophet SAW practiced reciting these two surahs Every Day in the Morning, evening, and before sleeping. For children’s motivation I added, ”’If you want energies like superheroes against bad powers, you have to memorize these two surahs and recite Morning and night.
STEP 2- Word to word Translation
We did word-to-word Translation. We have used whiteboards. And sometimes we do write word meanings in the book. It depends on the age of the child and their learning capability. If any child can make notes of word meanings while writing Arabic as well. Then we prefer it. But if any child has the book, or can easily learn and write in the book. then it’s the second-best option.
Step 3_Full Translation with infographics.
Then full Translation was done. Pictures helped us in understanding the theme of Surah. For homework, children do memorize word meanings and translations. They also do infographics of the full Surah.
Step 4- Tafsir or Deep understanding
On the second day we did some Tafseer from the Book of Islamic studies’ It is a great read to understand the background of Surah and the power of Allah. The reality of Black Magic. We also Had a story from the My First Quran stories book about Musa A.S and MAGICIANS. We discussed the reality of Black magic.
We discussed some magic tricks.
Step 5- Activities
Names/attributes of Allah Subhan Wa Tallah activities were done in calligraphy.
Activities and exercises were done. What children Learnt from this Surah?
Then after completing two Surahs, there were Asma-ul-Husna activities. Calligraphy of the names of Allah which are mentioned in this surah was done by students.
These two surahs are protection Surahs, So According to Sunnah, we should recite these Surahs 3 times in the morning and 3 times in the evening. Our Prophet SAW also recited these surahs the night before sleeping.
Step 6- Stories
We have two stories to tell to our students while learning these two surahs. 1st is the story of magicians(Prophet Musa A.S story). To tell them that all types of Magics are false powers and Haram.
We had another story from My first Quran stories book. This is a story Iblees. Who is the biggest enemy of Humans, So we discussed as Iblees is following us to mislead us, we need the protection of Allah SWT from every evil?
Step 7- Mind Map of the Surah
The theme of these Surahs is Protection Surahs.

step 8- Conclusion and Discussion
Alhamdulillah. Now kids were supposed to make some drawings and write names about their fears. After discussion, we came to know every child has any fear, like fear of darkness, jins, loneliness, supper powers, nightmares, and many other things, So we decided to Recite these surahs when we will feel fear.
And of course, these surahs will be in Our Morning and Evening azkaars before sleeping. In sha Allah

Surah Al Fatiha. This is how I will divide this surah into 4 sections and explain it to my students.
The first part verse no 1 to 3 is full of praise of Allah. So We will explain the meaning of Asma-ul-Hhasna mentioned in this part. A total of 5 Asma_ul_husa are described in this surah including the real name *Allah*.
So after Hamad-o-Sana, of the lord, the next section, Verse no 4 Is about belief in getting a reward for every action. It’s one of the pillars of the Muslim faith, faith on the day of judgment. It urges believers to obey their lord.
Verse 5 Is registration of accepting Islam With heart contentment. We are born Muslims. In spite of this, we don’t know much about our lord, the creator. But after knowing our lord very well we accepted His teachings and gave witnessing that will obey Allah.
Verses 6 and 7 are Prayers. To be a good Muslim, to earn Jannat, and to walk on a straight path we need Allah’s help. Because shytan is here to mislead us. So we learn to pray.
Surah Al-Fatiha Verse 1

Bismillah Means,
In the name of Allah Most kind and merciful.. Starting Quran with Bismillah is also recommended and it is also Brakah It is also a Prayer, We should start every good deed with Bismillah. Why?
To make it easy for kids to understand, I tell them, Bismillah is permission of Allah for using blessings and creations of Allah. We should say Bismillah who granted us food, as he is Rehman and Raheem. (It’s my personal thought)
Bismillah before sleeping, as He provided us night and peace to sleep in the night on so comfortable beds. Same as before reading, playing, going outside, and doing every good deed we should say Bismillah. So here are some worksheets I got from the internet. We are also doing Calligraphy of Bismillah.
An explanation of Ar-Rahmaan and AR-Raheem is in the next Verse. So with the explanation of Bismillah, we read a Story of the Building of Kabah. When both prophets prayed while building.
Their prayer was fulfilled and Allah granted them all the Barakah and blessings. We should also start our all good works with the name of Allah and with prayers. so that May Allah accepts our good deeds and increases Barakah. See the story of Queen Saba in the pictures.

Surah Al-Fatiha Verse no 2
Praise belongs to Allah, The lord of the worlds.
Alhamdulillah is a very important Kalima for Muslims. . Alhamdolilah means Praise of Allah, and being grateful To Rub. In this Part, There is the real name of Allah SWT. So we work on it. See the Asma-ul-husna section.
And to be Grateful to Allah and Love our Lord we need to know who is lord. And what is the power of our Lord? So we worked on Allah’s attribution ‘RUB.’ See the detail In Asma-ul-husna Section. So what is Hamad and how/when to do Praise of Allah? So making it easy for the children I told them,
Bismillah is asking for permission from Allah and Allah’s Help. We should be grateful and thankful to Allah as we do say Thank you to others. see detail in the worksheet, So an activity on when we will say Alhamdolilah was done. as Hamad is also a praise so, when we do Pray to Allah we praise him to admit his power.

Asma-ul-Husna Ar-Rahamaan and Ar-Rahim. These are very Important Attributions of Allah. So we did a chapter about these names.. Allah’s blessings are permanent and some are overflowing. But if we would be ungrateful to Allah, He may turn our blessing into a punishment. Detail Of these names would we in Asma-ul-Husan section.

Surah Al-Fatiha verse 4
مَالِكِ يَوْمِ الدِّينِ Maliki Yawmi-Deen Ayah 4. Master of the Day of Judgment
This verse Is about Muslim faith, Faith on the Day of judgment. It believes in getting a reward for every action. It urges believers to obey their lord.
Allah is the Master of the day of judgment. He will see our deeds on the day of judgment. We will get back whatever good or bad we did in this life.
As a practical work, Children were supposed to make a scale of their good and bad deeds. It was 2 weeks or 1-month activity. They added pebbles or beans to collect More and more good deeds and try to avoid bad deeds. This is a practice for kids. So that they would realize, one day our good/bad deeds will bring to us and we will see what we had earned. and they will get a reward for it.
And at the end of the activity, a reward should be given to kids for collecting good and avoiding bad deeds. So the story of two Gardens is the best story for kids. In this story, it is stated that what we get is from Allah. he is the owner. He gives rewards for our deeds and intentions.
We should say Ma Sha Allah for having blessings. Like that garden one day, everything in this world will be destroyed and then people will regret it.
‘There is a day our all deeds will be put into a scale. This life is like an examination hall and the Day of judgment is the result day. Our book of actions will be open that day like our examination paper, And we will see what we are writing in that book. Then what will be our feeling? will we feel Happy? or sad?
‘To see this feeling, we made this Scale. for one week every child is putting some stones, pearls, or anything into it. One cup is for good deeds, second is for bad deeds. Every child is eager to increase good deeds. I hope this will help them to stop doing bad things, they would try to avoid making mistakes.

.مالک یوم الدین سے عقیدہ آخرت سمجھانا۔ اعمال کا بدلے کا دن۔ اچھے برے اعمال کا بدلہ کیسے ملے گا۔ عملی کام۔۔۔۔۔۔۔۔۔ بچوں سے ایک ترازو بنوایا جائے گا جس میں وہ ایک مہینہ یہ ایکٹیویٹی کریں گے کہ دن میں ہر اچھے کام کا ایک موٹی اور ہر خراب کام کا ایک موٹی ڈالیں گے۔ مہینے کھ آخر میں اعمال کے مطابق بدلک ملے گا۔

So Final of Our Action scale. Child #1Mam I have 12 good Deads and 10 Bad dead’s. Why Hamdan? In a week you earned only 12 good deeds? His mother’s voice from the backside ”’ Mam actually he did many bad deeds, but he didn’t let us count his all bad deeds. ”” Ha ha ha
child 2I have 3 good deeds and 3 bad deeds. Why Ariz? You had many days, And you prayed 5 times, you do Recitation, and also many other things. He: Mam My younger sister was not letting me include more good deeds, Actually, she started to cry when I do add any good deeds and finally she took out my 3 good deeds. (she is in the same class and had a competition with him)
Child 3The youngest student. The sister of student no 2Mam I have 3 good deeds and 2 bad deeds. Afra why? where are your good deeds of reciting supplications and helping mom and other things?
Mam my mother said to me that I will put it. But she forgot. that’s why I have fewer deeds. (His brother from the other device)Mam whenever my mom tried to put her bad deed she started to cry.
So interesting. I was enjoying it. Then I told them that, it is human nature that they don’t want to count their bad deeds. So you were feeling guilty after a very bad deed. But this was just a trail. Don’t worry. Here are tips. So to do more good deeds and decrease your bad deeds,
1. Whenever you intend to do a good deed, your virtue would be counted so you can fill the good deeds cup with making many good intentions and also doing small virtues.
2. If you do make any mistake you can say sorry to the person who was affected and then recite Astagfirullah (youngest, mam what should I do if I forget Astagfirullah?)(Another student, Mam if I forget to recite Astagfirlullah, May I say again Astagfirullah for Forgetting Astagfirullah ?)
3. If you forget to perform any fardh, Offering Prayer, You have to Say sorry to Allah. And to say sorry to Allah you have to recite Astagfirullah many times and also you should make a promise in your heart that you will not do it again.
4. When you would say sorry and stop doing mistakes, your bad deeds would turn into good deeds. So you can pick a bad deed from the cup and put it into the good deeds cup. ( Boy: Mam our good deed also could go into bad deeds cup ever?) Subhan Allah. No never. Our good deeds would never be wasted.
Then there was another thing. For young children, angels do write their mistakes with an led pencil. and angles erase their bad deeds when they feel sorry.
But after turning 11 yrs, Mistakes would be written with an ink pen. It could not be erased. But stop. We have another option. We can use a whitener. And that whitener would have a spot that would remind us of our promise of not doing it again. And if We would commit that mistake again, Whitener would be scratched and that spot would look dirtier. Allah O Akber.
Surah Al-Fatiha Verse 5
Our registration !!! Iyaka Na’abodo, Wa iyaka Nasta’aeen.
So we Named This verse as A registration of a good Muslim.
Is registration of accepting Islam, With heart contentment. We were born Muslims. But after knowing our lord we accepted His teachings and gave witnessing that will obey Allah. So a Question was asked by all students.
Why are Muslim? Some said it was because we were born Muslim, and some said it, Because Allah made us Muslim. Some said it because we offer prayers, and some said our Parents told us.

. In these verses we do Prayers. To be a good Muslim, to earn Jannat, and to walk on a straight path we need Allah’s help. Because shytan is here to mislead us. Do pray more and more. Guide us to the straight path –We Pray to Allah to help us in understanding and follow a straight path.

The straight path is doing good. And devils are sitting in our way of good deeds. They invite us to change our path. They give us trouble to go upward like a way off the hill. But if we will be steadfast.
We will get high status and get Jannah as a reward. A bad path is easy to walk. devils are making it beautiful and easy. But it will lead one to hellfire. We have to escape from this. The story of Habeel and Qabeel is best for this. See picture.
