Healthy Habits of Eating: Worksheet, Hadith, and Story for Kids

This is a story of a child who lost his health because of his bad eating habits. This worksheet and hadith will teach healthy habits of eating to kids.

Dear kids today again I have a beautiful Hadith and a story for you. Today’s Hadith is about Using the right hand during eating and the Story is about ‘A hungry boy’

    Hadith:

    healthy habits of eating

    Sahih Muslim 2020: لاَ يَأْكُلَنَّ أَحَدٌ مِنْكُمْ بِشِمَالِهِ

None of you should eat with his left hand

Dear kids after reading the topic of the Hadith you get to know that we should not eat with our left hand. What are the harmful effects of it and why we should not eat with the left hand let’s hear a story.

Story of A Hungry Boy: Ali

Ali was a good and well-mannered child, he always behaved well and respect others, he played and studied also on time, and everyone praised him, but dear kids after some time Ali’s habits began to change.

Now it happened that Ali focused more to play games, he always started to play with things especially while eating the food. He always had something in hand to play.

Dear kids whenever Ali had to at something, he took the mobile phone for a game or a toy to play with while eating or sometimes took the little cars to play.

He started to eat with his left hand so that he can play with his right hand.

Dear kids do you know that a devil eats with those who eat with the left hand, and if the left hand is used for eating the blessing of food is gone in the devil’s tummy?

One day Ali’s mother advised him that my dear kid,

Eating with the left hand is a bad habit, but Ali forgot to avoid it, and now he becomes habitual to eat like this.

Now, whenever he eats with the left hand a devil took his blessing of food, and it goes into the devil’s tummy.

Every time Ali ate food with his left hand and could not be satisfied, and still feels hungry, he becomes weak day by day. He started to eat again and again but the food was not enough for him, because he forgot the manners of eating.

    • He did not wash his hands.
    • He always forgot to say bismillah/ Alhamdolilah…………..
    • Never eats with the right hand
    • He started to play while eating

Devil was so happy because every bad habit of Ali was his favorite, the devil was becoming fat because every time he got the energy of Ali’s food.

Ali could not play more like before because he got hungry soon while playing and returned home.

So only he saw the kids playing outside from the window.

Dear kids his parents were worried about him but Ali did not listen to them and got angry every time.

He was out of control now, often he ate the food of his brother and sister as well, and even then he could not be satisfied, his story of hunger spread everywhere, and his relatives and family members could not make him satisfied by giving him food.

At last, somebody told his parents that the solution is to ask Allah’s devoted man. who could cure him mentally?

Ali’s parents took him to a wise Noble and Allah’s devoted servant. He heard his problem and said

Don’t worry, Ali has no problem, In Sha, Allah Ali will be alright in a few days.

The man asked Ali to stay with him and arranged food for him. When Ali started to eat the man said Ali you have to obey some terms before eating the food. Ali was so hungry for a long time so he asked me to tell him what terms I have to obey I can’t wait for it anymore.

The devoted man asked Ali to wash his hands first, Ali washed his hands quickly,

Then he said now recite bismillah………………

Ali recited bismillah……………..and then start to eat but

Remember you have to eat with the right hand

No matter how much time you take to eat it.

Ali recited bismillah……..and then started to eat with the right hand, he felt it difficult to eat with the right hand and was not comfortable, because he forgot this habit, as it was a strict term Somali continued to eat step by step with the right hand.

Dear kids this time the devil could not get a share of his food, the devil waited for Ali to at with the left hand so that it could be shared by the devil.

But the devoted man was sitting with Ali, Somali did not eat with his left hand and finished his meal and also got the satisfaction that his tummy is full now. the devil slept hungrily.

Dear kids the devoted man whenever gave food to Ali,

He ate it with his right hand.

Due to the devoted man’s wisdom, the devil runs away.

Ali started to eat food according to his hunger and on time.

Ali’s parents were thankful to the devoted man.

Ali also promised himself that he will never change his habit of eating with the right hand.

Dear kids you see how Ali was trapped by the devil due to his bad eating habit. If we want to be healthy and physically strong we should add these

    Sunnah’s healthy habits of eating:

The Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) includes various manners and etiquettes when it comes to eating. Here are some examples of Sunnah eating manners:

    1. Saying the Bismillah (In the name of Allah) before eating: It is recommended to start each meal by saying “Bismillah” (In the name of Allah). This serves as a reminder of gratitude and seeking blessings from Allah.
    2. Eating with the right hand: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) encouraged eating with the right hand and using the right hand for other noble actions. It is considered more hygienic and respectful.
    3. Eating from what is closest: It is recommended to eat from what is closest to you instead of reaching for food far away. This promotes moderation and consideration for others.
    4. Eating in a seated position: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) advised eating while sitting down, preferably on the floor or at a low table. This posture promotes better digestion.
    5. Eating with three fingers: It is recommended to eat with the thumb, index finger, and middle finger, as the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) would often do. This helps in controlling portion sizes and promotes mindful eating.
    6. Eating together: Whenever possible, it is encouraged to eat meals in a group or with family members. This fosters a sense of community and strengthens family bonds.
    7. Thanking Allah after eating: After finishing the meal, it is recommended to praise and thank Allah by saying “Alhamdulillah” (All praise be to Allah). This expresses gratitude for the sustenance provided.
    8. Not wasting food: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) emphasized avoiding wastefulness. It is encouraged to take only what is sufficient and to finish the food on one’s plate, being mindful of those who may be less fortunate.

These are some examples of Sunnah eating manners that are recommended for Muslims to follow. By incorporating these etiquettes into daily meals, one can align their eating habits with the teachings of Islam and promote mindfulness, gratitude, and moderation.

    Other healthy habits of eating:

Developing healthy eating habits is crucial for maintaining a balanced diet and promoting overall well-being. Here are some key healthy habits to incorporate into your eating routine:

    1. Eat a variety of foods: Aim to include a wide range of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats in your diet. This ensures you get a diverse array of nutrients.
    2. Portion control: Pay attention to portion sizes to avoid overeating. Use smaller plates and bowls to help control portion sizes and listen to your body’s hunger and fullness cues.
    3. Eat regular meals: Establish a routine of regular meals and snacks throughout the day to maintain consistent energy levels. Skipping meals can lead to overeating or making unhealthy food choices later on.
    4. Include fruits and vegetables: Make fruits and vegetables the focal point of your meals. They are packed with essential vitamins, minerals, and fiber while being low in calories. Aim for at least five servings of fruits and vegetables daily.
    5. Choose whole grains: Opt for whole grains such as brown rice, whole wheat bread, quinoa, and oats over refined grains. Whole grains provide more fiber and nutrients, promoting better digestion and overall health.
    6. Limit processed foods: Minimize the consumption of processed and packaged foods, as they are often high in unhealthy fats, added sugars, and sodium. Instead, focus on whole, natural foods.
    7. Drink plenty of water: Hydration is essential for various bodily functions. Drink an adequate amount of water throughout the day, and limit sugary drinks and excessive caffeine intake.
    8. Cook at home: Preparing your meals at home allows you to have control over the ingredients and cooking methods. It enables you to make healthier choices, such as reducing added sugars, unhealthy fats, and sodium.
    9. Limit added sugars and salt: Be mindful of your sugar and salt intake. Read food labels and choose products with lower amounts of added sugars and sodium. Opt for natural sweeteners like honey or fresh fruits instead of refined sugar.
    10. Practice mindful eating: Slow down and savor each bite. Pay attention to the flavors, textures, and sensations of the food you consume. This practice helps you become more aware of your body’s hunger and fullness signals.
    11. Plan and prepare ahead: Plan your meals and snacks in advance to avoid impulsive and unhealthy food choices. Stock your pantry and fridge with nutritious options to make it easier to stick to your healthy eating goals.
    12. Seek balance, not perfection: Remember that healthy eating is a long-term lifestyle approach. Allow yourself occasional treats or indulgences while focusing on a well-balanced diet overall.

It’s essential to consult with a healthcare professional or a registered dietitian for personalized advice based on your specific dietary needs and goals.

    Day .5…Hadees No 4 👇🏃‍♂️

    🌷Aslam-O-Alaikum Dear members.🌷
Our today’s Hadees is Down 👇

The Topic of the Hadees of the Day is Envy(Jealousy)

    For English members:-

This hadith is one of the series of three hadith about anger, jealousy, and Irritation. This is a very bad habit and mental sickness. Almost this habit starts to develop in childhood. When parents do not do justice between siblings and do a comparison of their kids with others. Kids start to hate others and this habit turns into envy. It is very hard to overcome this sickness but we could do some remedies to reduce this Habit.

Like, do not do a comparison. Praise your kids for their success but with limits. Do not praise kids much when other kids are present there. Do not criticize one kid in public. Talk about the losses of jealousy with kids. Tell them stories, hadiths, and verses of the Quran about envy. Our today’s hadith is presented with a very interesting story for kids.

Please open the video of story. The link to the video is above. (If you want to get written story instead of the video you can comment bellow.)

In the end, don’t forget to write Hadith in the Hadees book. And share the picture of the Hadith for other activities you did for this Hadith. So that your kids would get the certificate of completing their Ahadith.

Revise the hadith every day and memorize it with code, story, and name. (According to age)

  • Tips and ideas on how to mould Children’s behaviours? Gifts and rewards to Make children stable in good deeds.

One question is asked by one of my readers. She is anxious to know which Rewards we could give on their good behavers so that they would be stable.
First thing we should all realise that, kids are complete personality. We cant make them more intelligent, mannered and good as much as Allah made them. Second some moments in the life of all humans are tough so when you feel help less turn to Allah and ask His help.

Rewards could be given for two reasons. To develop good behaviours and to celebrate their success. Let’s see them separately.English Reward Sticker Pack 2 (Contains 236 Fun Stickers)

    1.Manners/behaviour

Manners and behaviours don’t develop in a few days. It takes years to become a habit. From the womb of the mother to Social interaction, kids may act in different ways and react accordingly. We categorize them in two types of behaviours. In the first category, we may include minor actions that kids adopt for some days and then forget. Scolding someone, laughing/crying without a reason, repeating some words or spitting everywhere, etc. We should not take them seriously. We should ignore these things as much we could do. Some times we may point out to them that this is a bad word or behaviour. Some other behaviours turn into a permanent habit. At this point, we should play our role. Some common habits in kids are

    • Shouting
    • Lying
    • Fighting
    • Talking back
    • Breaking the rules
    • Aggression
    • Stealing things
    • Scolding
    • Inferiority/priority complex
    • Stubbornness

Now how to control these habits?

First of all these habits comes into kids from people around him and the environment. As soon as you would see your child has started to adopt any unacceptable behaviour. Try to find the root. If someone in the family has an influence on him. Try to take him/her separate from that person. If you have some rules and you don’t want to break them then you must stay stable. Never let them break the rules. Some time punishment and breakouts work more than words. And if this is not possible, then the second remedy always works. Don’t give him advise every time everywhere. Some times kids do repeat things in just stubbornness at that time keep calm and try to ignore them. Let him free for a while and then choose a calm and lonely time. If the child is under 6 then it is easy to discuss before to sleep. And if he/she is up then Waite for the right time. Then praise him/her for his good things. make an emotional bonding with the child and tell him/her you love them. And finally, tell them that you do not expect from them such bad behaviours. They will understand and try to control their behaviours. If they would promise you to do some activities to overcome bad habits

    Hugging, Kissing, Talking.

This is the strongest policy And this is just for parents. Like adults, kids need more appreciations, praise love. Don’t ignore their needs. Hug them make them realize you love them. Buy a sticker book. And give them love stickers at their faces, in their lunch boxes, their clothes, their books, and everywhere.

    Good deeds tree.

Make a good deed tree. Shown in the picture. If they beat someone or do any wrong thing. Tell them this was from shaytan. Come close to them and ask them to say sorry and recite Astagfirullah. When they do this give them a stick of fruit or star. You can draw fruit on trees from them instead of stickers.

Some emotions and habits would be genetic. They are hard to change. But a little hard work could mould them. So play some games. Cards and other such games could help them.

    Good behaviour Chart.

Make a chart and Write all good behaviours your kids have and some you want to see into them Then before to sleep mark them if they were fulfilled. And if they were unable in behave well. Motivate them to complete that next day.

The 3 Minute Gratitude Journal for Kids: A Journal to Teach Children to Practice Gratitude and Mindfulness
Journal is very good for personality development. They do catharsis. my kids use their diaries and journals, even during their educational trips. Some times I ask them to write some words about what they like, what they do not like, what they want to do, and what if they would be in any other place or home? Hahaha. Yes even sometimes I ask them which women you like and imagine would be your mother.

    Storytelling. 😍

Seerah and moral stories are kids’ favourite. It is a big source of giving education as well as converting a good message when any kid would behave badly. Like sometimes my kids do not answer me then I would tell them the story of Prophet SAW that he said. If my mom would be alive and calls me during my Isha Prayer. I will stop prayer and rely on them YES. It is a big deal for kids. Urdu stories For Urdu kids are at ‘Islam for kids’

    Responsibility with rewards.😍😌

Give them some responsibility. Like the elder would handle small siblings, ask them to cut some fruits, help in house chores. Then give them some reward for helping you.

    Celebrate their success.

Gifts, outing, a light treat, Appreciate cards, even when parents wear new clothes and tell kids, today we are celebrating your special achievement. This would do work like a motivational energizer.

    2.Ibada/manners and learning tasks.

    Supplications Remembering:

If kids learn dua/supplications well but do not apply or they would forget to read them then the better way is that, Make a lap book or some dua wall hangers with beautiful drawing. This work would be a kid’s activity base.

Try to Teach manners and positive effects of that supplication on daily life as well as the reward of remembering that supplication from Allah. Kids will write, learn and remember these things forever. They will feel the happiness of having their own lap book. And wall hanger will decorate their walls as well as remind them to say before doing an action. Like I made two wall hanger for the supplication of using the washroom. Then explained what to do and what to not do inside toiles. I Hanged them outside the door and kids were reciting Regularly before and after using toilets. They remembered supplication well as well as thins wall hanger developed a habit to not forget reciting this supplication. We can do the same for the supplications of eating, drinking sleeping, etc.

    Offering prayers.

If you want your kid will offer prayer on time and don’t miss it. Then prayer schedules and checklist would help them. No one tried this as a monthly based checklist. He tried this in month f, Ramadan. He is punctual in prayers so we designed one box for every day, 1 big sticker was used for fast and five small for five prayers. The second one has his own checklist. He made This checklist on a graph paper. 5 boxes were for five prayers, 1 for reciting Quran and 1 for memorizing Quran. He would tick the offered prayers, tick and yellow mark for late offered and a blank box for missing. And then tick for the Quran.😊

    Quran.

The first one is Doing Hifz. From the first month when there was his first Test I treat him with a 1 dish party as well as a gift of his choice. And then I did it for three months, later after his half Juzz. and when he completed his first para. I celebrated it with full passion. It was more charming than a birthday party. Here is a picture of food I mostly prepare to treat at home.
A healthy activity to complete Tasks of moulding good behaviours or is that of a garden. We named it gratefulness garden. It was a family activity to think of any bless of Allah and say Alhamdolilah for that and plant a Flower. It is made of crafts papers and plays dough. We designed a garden in which we plant a flower daily made of playdough… In one month we would be able to count 30 Blessings of Allah. I know at some points children would get confused about what to count now. But we have so much to say thank you to Allah so remind them of some blessing. The same activities could be done for doing good deeds, say sorry, hugging siblings, Sharing things with other, daily charity, etc. I hope kids will enjoy more when they see the garden full of flowers.
If you want to add your supper tips. Please drop a comment. Leave a comment if you have any other behavioural problems.

The Topic of the Hadees of the Day is The importance of Salah.

    For English members:-

3o short Ahadith for kids English and Urdu

Today we will teach our kids about the importance of Prayer. We all know that Namaz is compulsory, not optional, but only a few people offer their prayer. And those who are punctual, Their actions are also not according to true Muslims.
Prophet Muhammad SAW said, Pray Differs a Muslim from a kafir. If we want to guard our children against kufr and kafir then we have to teach them the importance and punctuality of Prayer. So that they would offer their pray like Shabah. So that they would get close to Allah and live a sin-free life. But the point to ponder is that, if our good Terbiyat makes them punctual to offer prayer and one from the parents don’t offer the prayer, then there is a high risk that our child would say us, kafir. So we should be punctual and sincere in our actions. Here is no leave from Salah. And if we will skip Salah for our other activities, then It is not Allah who needs us. He will also forget us. He will not feed us at the bed, but he will be kicked us away and we will get tired of achieving the goal for this world. The message of out today’s story is that the door of Jannah will not be opened without a key to Salah. And without Salah our all other good deeds will be wasted. Salah protects us from Shaytaan and sins.
Our today’s story is The friend of ALLAH and Devil. I don’t have the written content of this story. As I wrote this with the help of my memory. So I’m giving an outline of this story. Please read this story as a bedtime story for your kids. And make sure to write this hadith at any board or hang the t wall to memorize.
The outline of the story is
Once there was an old man. He was very poise and a true believer of Allah. Because of his Abadah, Good character, and helpful nature, Allah had made him His friend. Shaytan tried his best to indulge him in any sin but failed. He came to him again and again but his Salah was protecting him from shaytan. Shaytan was not happy that this old man would go into Jannah. So once he though a very powerful trick and he decided to do something to keep that old man away from Salaah. He comes to the old man in the face of an angle. He praised the old man. He said to him that Allah is very happy with you. And he sent me to you to give you news of Jannah. The old man was happy and asked again if it is true? He (devil) Said yes, and Also also appointed me to tell you that you are a true believer. You made me happy. Your struggle to help people and offering prayer on time was a trial and you succeed in it. So Allah says that now you are free to fulfil my rights. You don’t need to offer prayers. Instead, you should spend more time helping my people. The old man was not happy with this. He remains silent. He thought something and stood up saying, get away from here you bastard Shaytan. You are here to mislead me. It was you who denied fulfilling order of Allah. Allah had never said to his prophets to leave any prayer than how would give me permission to do this.
Shaytan was frightened and run away.
Tell your, kids, that shaytan comes in many faces to us and whispers us to not obey. But we have to say him no to become a good friend of Allah.

  • Ramdan and Eid of expats. With Eid and Ramdan arts and Crafts for kids

eid and ramadan crafts for kids
    Ramadan And Eid of Expats.
The First Ramadan and Eid as an expat was at the stage of self-pity and made me homesick. But now after 8 years when my kids grow up and we are 5 members at home,
I enjoy blissful Ramadan. with arts and crafts for Eid and Ramadan. But living as an ex-pat is a little hard thing itself when we have zero Muslim community around us.Especially for children its hard to understand the difference between religious rituals. Here the non-Muslims celebrate their rituals with much excitement and community involvement. In this condition, it’s very important for us to make our rituals more attractive and charming with its soul. That’s why. This year The theme of our Ramadan is about a Verse of a Quran which is In Surah Baqra 183.

Because Some non-Muslims think it’s very cruel to live hungry for the whole day. And Muslim children feel pity for them-self. So we will explain and follow these three Conceptions of Fasting...

    1. Fast was also Fardh in other religions like Hinduism and Christianity. But they forget their prayers and added new things in their rituals.
    2. We can’t leave Fast in any condition. We can delay it if we are Sick or traveling.
    3. The purpose of Ramadan is increasing our level of Taqwaa.
In the light of this Verse we will plan our all activities covering two things.
1.Ramadan eid decorations and planners. 2. Ibada activities to get Taqwa
Ramadan/Eid decorations and planners. Ramadan preparations Start from the month of Shawwal when we start to clean home and prayer mats. To follow Sunnah It is the best thing to practice more fasts in the month of Shawwal..
My kids start to countdown the Ramadhan and excited about the happiness of the daily iftar table.

Here I will describe some things we will do in Ramadan.

1.Wishing Crads and Self evaluation cards for nonemuslim fellow.

Alhamdulillah we have made planned to give Ramadan wishes, self-evaluation cards and a pack of some dates to class fellows of elder one who is turning 9yrs this Ramadan. In this activity, he will share a short introduction/Ramadan story in his class. Then he will give wish card to his class fellow with a self-evaluation card in which every student will ask a question (how am I?) to his parents, friends, and people around him. And get good behavior starts and hearts from others.

    2.Prayer Corner.

Our first and Welcome Ramadan activity is Making of a prayer corner.
In a less messy room, we choose a corner and decorate it to offer our prayers and Ibadah here.
In this corner, we have prayer mats, Table of Quran and Seerah books, Tasbeeh. I also added some sticky notes Color/pencils and some other activity materials in this corner to do some activities(described down)We made this corner full with fragrance and charming lights or candle. 3.Shopping;-

All necessary Grocery and new summer clothes shopping should be done before Ramadan. So we will buy clothes to wear in Jummah prayers and Eid Before Ramadan. 4.Wishing cards. During Ramadan, kids will make some eid wishing or Iftar invitation cards which they could do best. It depends on them whatever they will use to decorate and write on them.
    5.Iftar preparations
Every member of the family will volunteer in preparation of after. Of Course, the kids are too young to practice Fast, but they do Iftar. It’s the best time where we could learn to eat Sunnah foods, manners of eating and welcome every food.
    6.Eid gift packs
This Ramadhan I’m planning to make eid gift packs. Living in abroad we don’t have other kids surroundings to give these gift packs. But This year we would make these packs for their schoolfellows. Because kids feel a little complex when they can’t take part in school celebrations and the rituals of their friends. So I think our kids should feel proud of their rituals. And doing this will also raise awareness in their friends that they also have their religious rituals. Here is the picture of the gifts I gave them last year. This year I’m planning to give something else to my kids and adding some candies and chocolate bars in the gift packs of other children.

My elder one is already doing Hifz. So, this year I planned my self to memorize at least one Surah in this month. And younger kids will also take part in memorizing. For this, I think listening of audio is the best way for kids. I have apps of Quran recitation which they will listen and learn.
Stories About the Ramadhan of Sahaba 4.Daily Ayat e Tadabbur. Daora e Quran is my favorite thing to do in Ramadan. It’s also Sunnah that Prophets Muhammad SAW did Dora e Quran every night of Ramadan with Jibraeel A.S. For kids its better I will choose any Ayat for them and do tadabbur on it.

Names of the 3 birds mentioned in the Quran.

There are three birds that are mentioned in Quran. 1 Crow in the story of Adam A.S Hoope (HUDHUD) in the story of King SOLOMON and Ababeel in the story of the Elephants. here we are going to see facts of hope (hud hud) with the story of Solomon.

    King Solomon and Hud Hud

The project is based on these simple and easy steps like our first story.

    birds in quran
    1. Storytelling
    2. Finding the birds and Animals mentioned in that story.
    3. Facts of the mentioned birds HUDHUD(Hoopoe).
    4. Crafts of the story
    5. Benefits of the HudHud and other birds.
    6. Verses of the Quran about the benefits of birds.
    7. Lessons and important points of the story.

    1. The story of King Sulemon A.S and hud hud(Read the story in Urdu)

The story of King Solomon is very much interesting and attractive as it has many magical lyrics and is divided into many small parts. In this story Ants, Fish, Hud Hud, Crow, and Jins are mentioned.

The story of Prophet Solomon (Sulaiman in Arabic) and Hud-hud (Hoopoe bird) is mentioned in the Quran in Surah Al-Naml (Chapter 27, verses 20-28).

According to the story, Prophet Solomon was a righteous and just king who ruled over a vast kingdom with the help of Allah. One day, he noticed that Hud-hud, one of the birds in his kingdom, was missing. Prophet Solomon asked his courtiers about Hud-hud’s whereabouts, but no one knew where the bird had gone.

Then, Hud-hud returned to Prophet Solomon with some news. The bird had discovered a kingdom ruled by a queen who was worshipped by her people instead of Allah. Prophet Solomon was curious and ordered the bird to lead his army to that kingdom to investigate.

When they arrived, Prophet Solomon saw that the queen and her people were indeed worshipping idols instead of Allah. Prophet Solomon invited the queen to worship Allah instead and warned her that if she did not abandon her false beliefs, her kingdom would be destroyed by Allah.

The queen realized the truth and submitted to Allah. Prophet Solomon then asked Hud-hud why he had not brought the news of this kingdom to him before, to which the bird replied that it had traveled far and wide to bring the news to Prophet Solomon.

Prophet Solomon was pleased with the bird’s loyalty and intelligence and thanked Allah for the guidance. The story of Prophet Solomon and Hud-hud serves as a lesson about the importance of seeking knowledge and guidance from Allah, as well as the importance of remaining steadfast in one’s beliefs and worship of Allah.

    2. Bird of the Story HOOPOE (HUDHUD).

Hoopoe or hud hud is the bird on which our project was going ahead.
The bird of this story is HUDHUD which has beautiful feathers like the crown of a king at his head and a curved beak. It is revealed in the Surat al-Namal Verse no 20 that:-

    8. They like bad smells.
    9. Hud Hud Doo Migrations.
    10. They like to take a sunbath and dust/sandbath.

    4. The crafts of the story.

As I mentioned above this story is consists of many short parts and has more things to work on. So we made many crafts for the story. So we decided to make the nest of the hud which is a unique and different nest from all other birds. We tried to make the nest in many ways. Kids were trying to make the same nest as Hud Hud by making the whole in a small log. We got three logs and nails and hammers to drag a hole. All three kids tried for two days but it was a hard thing so they ended up with a paper craft(milk pack)

  • A complete nutritional Sunnah break fast for Muslim Parenting.A motivational Article.

Healthy breakfast Ideas with Sunnah Meal/ ingredients.

Last week we had a school meeting. The agenda was full of tummy breakfast and healthy meal awareness.

    muslimparenting sunaah foods.

There It was a shocking comment from the teachers of nursery classes.
They were telling the ratio of kids coming with a complete breakfast is 2:20 and with a light breakfast is 3/5 out of 20, and the rest of the students are coming without breakfast. And they summed up that sugar and white floor is lowering the hunger and making them weak inside. That’s why children especially girls get weaker and complain about the ache in the joints and bones.
I was surprised. I know many children don’t like to eat in the morning. So many parents seem to be grateful if they are at least taking a cup of milk. So there was a campaign started in the school and the target was sending children in the school with a full tummy breakfast.
Alhamdulillah, my all children have a habit to take a complete and healthy breakfast every morning.so I’m not much worry about them. But I felt Proud of being  Muslim that we have Sunnah food in our life when teachers recommended ‘Honey’ instead of Jams and other topping ingredients. Many Mothers are in need a good recommendation and motivation of healthy breakfast for the little ones. That’s why I decided to write an article to share some tips and ideas about a complete nutritional breakfast every morning.

    muslimparenting Sunnah foods.

    Tip 1.

Breakfast is the first meal of the day. We need more energy and a pleasant mood to begin a worthful day. This is the time when our body and stomach could absorb heavy meals. Make a healthy and rich meal menu for breakfast
Here is a set of breakfast ingredients.
      1.  A brown toast topped with honey and butter, half egg and the half cup of milk.
      2. A brown Rusk with cheese or butter and yogurt.
      3. A Bowl wheat porridge with and a spoon of honey and 3dates.
      4. A Brown chapatti bread made in olive oil and a cup of yogurt.
      5. A glass of fresh juices and with the role of brown bread filled with cream and chicken.
      6. Mouselli with milk/yogurt and Banana.
      7. Black chocolate with milk and bread.
      Muslimparenting Sunnah foods

      Tip 2.

After a long sleep, children don’t want to eat. So give them a break of 1:30 to 2 hrs between awakening and breakfast.

      Tip 3.

Motivate them to eat healthy foods in the morning. Mostly girls like to look pretty and glowing and boys want to be more strong and healthy. So encourage them to eat a more and more healthy thing in the morning so that could achieve their target.

      Tip 4.

Change the menu often. So that they do not feed up with the same things every morning.

      Tip 5.

Sit and do your breakfast with them and show your interest in eating more in the morning.

      Tip 6.

At the start, children will not be ready to eat so much in the morning. slowly and steadily they will get used to it. But you live constant and force them to take breakfast. In some days, they will change their behavior.

      Tip 7.

Provide a relaxed and calm atmosphere at the time of Breakfast. Don’t show the hurries, otherwise, the children will make the reason to avoid breakfast.
In the end here is a list of Sunnah foods that are rich nutritional.

      • Dates
      • Olive/olive oil
      • Milk
      • Brown bread
      • Honey.
      • Dry fruits.
      • Meat
      • Apple Cider.
      • Pomegranate.
      • Fig
      • Watermelon.
      • Cucumber.
      • Barley
      • Water.
      • Grapes

In holidays when the children stay at home before noon try to add more sunnah foods in their diet.

Note:- The foods that are not good for children are enlisted.
      1. Fast foods
      2. White floor,
      3. Suger.
      4. Brown and fatty Chocolates
      5. Candies,
      6. Tetra pack juices and soft drinks.
      7. Broiler meats and eggs.
      8. Jams and artificial coloring items.

Foods are the fuel of our body. Do not spoil the habits of children. The rest of the life of children depends on what they eat At a young age. So do not compromise with it. Good health promises a productive energetic and strong body.

Purpose of the Unit study of birds mentioned in the Quran

In this session, our focus and purpose are polishing the creativity of Muslim children and adding some pieces of information about nature with a complete reference to the Quran. So that children take more interest in reading and understanding the Holy Book Quran Kareem and do Tafakurr.

Crow, Hoopoe, and Ababeels are the birds mentioned in the Quran. All these birds are mentioned in different stories and in different ways. But all these birds have some astonishing facts. We did this unit study in a totally different way. Three children were part of this study with the moms. Every activity was hands-on and fieldwork-based. let’s see the reality and facts of the birds one by one.

We will study the bird crow mentioned in the Quran in these ways.

      1. Storytelling
      2. Bird of this story.
      3. Photography.
      4. Facts of the Crow.
      5. Crafting.
      6. Benefits of the birds and crow.
      7. Moral lesson and Prayer of forgiveness.

      Storytelling

      1. Crow is mentioned in the Quran in the story of Adam A.S and his Sons Habeel & Qabeel. We will start with storytelling.

Before starting to tell stories keep in mind

      • Answer the unrelative questions of children.
      • Use a good Tone of Storytelling.
      • Body language helps to express feelings and make good imaginaries

Our first story is about the First Khalifa of Allah SAW (Prophet of Allah SWT )Adam and His Sons. The bird mentioned in our first story is A CROW. This story is revealed in Surat Al-meida in Quran. We read the story of Adam and His son and found out the moral lesson of the story. The lesson of the story of Adam is given in these two pictures.

After reading the story, we had a discussion, about why Adam was sent to this world. What Allah has advised them? And the lesson we learned from the story is that we should obey Allah, not Iblees. W all are bounded by some forbidden and shytan is our enemy. If we follow him, he will mislead us and we will occur sins like the sons of Adam A.S. Some facts from the story of Adam are added to the pictures.

      Birds mentioned in Quran

      Creativity, Art/Craft for the story

We have this fingerpainted forbidden tree for this purpose. we had many crafts in this story like the forbidden tree of Adam. A.S, First Kabah Made by Adam A.S and other craftworks.

      Birds mentioned in Quran

      Moral lesson of the story

The story is about two brothers. One brother was loyal and honest and loved his brother, He is obedient to his father, and he submitted to Allah. But the other was misguided by shaitan. He hated and was jealous of his brother. He was disrespectful of his father and not submitted to Allah. Finally following the footsteps of shytan he killed his own brother of His jealousy. Then he was regretful for not knowing what to do with the dead body, instead of being regretful to kill his brother. Allah helped him and a crow was there to teach him how to bury dead bodies.

      The bird in the Story

After telling the story a question was asked. Which birds taught Qabeel how to hide the dead body of Habeel into the soil? The Crow Yes it was the crow. The crow was mentioned and we entered into the world of crow. Now we have to find out the facts about the birds.

      Photography

We were looking to capture a crow or a nest of crows. Mostly in our area crows could be found hardly. But Luckily, we found a nest of a crew downstairs. That was close to the roof so we used a ladder to capture a close view of that nest. Honestly speaking the photograph is not much pretty, but I’m proud to uncover it as that was made by my little kids. We don’t have any pic of crows not of eggs, but it’s okay as kids are familiar enough with crows.

      Birds mentioned in Quran

      Facts of Crow.

We searched for the facts of the crows on youtube, google, and different books and social talks. We gathered these interesting facts about crows after watching the videos and also from this story.

      1. Crow has 45 species.
      2. The lush of a special kind of crow is Halal.
      3. Crow makes a rough nest with some grass and tree sticks.
      4. It is a very clever and outsmarting Bird so it could solve his problems at the spot.
      5. Crows are emotional birds and express their feelings. They don’t leave their Fellows even when they are dead.
      6. The crows have a strong memory.
      7. The Crows are fearless birds and can steal food from others even from humans.
      8. Crows eat everything even the dirt.

These facts unveil the truth of crow. For me, the new thing was that crow is Halal and Muslims could eat it.

      Birds mentioned in Quran

      Crafts of the story.

It’s time to make the nests of crows. We got three ideas for the nests. Woods and husk nest, molding clay nest, and play dough nest. So as we are going to do work on the three birds mentioned in Quran, we will make them all one by one. Crow nest will be of woods and husk. (For all the pictures visit my Pinterest profile.) Every child participated in this session excitedly. As it was again some fieldwork. They went outside to get woods and husks to make a nest. The Video of making a nest is down.

The Benefits and Importance of birds:-

The benefits of birds as well as Crow and Verses about birds in the Quran..-

Like other animals, insects, and birds Crows are also created for some benefit of all human kinds

After studying of Quran and science, we came to know that, the crow is not a useless bird.

Follow these (verses)Ayats for reference of benefits and facts of animals, birds, and Insects.

Summary of the study and prayer of Adam.

      • The lesson of this story is shaitan is our biggest enemy.
      • We should avoid being aggressive, envious, and jealous.
      • Every problem has its solution, we should learn lessons from nature.
      • We should ask forgiveness if we make any mistakes like Adam A.S.

Three Birds three stories in the Quran

      • Stories with facts, crafts, verses of Quran and Interesting activities for children.
Stories in Qur’an are a big source of teaching moral lessons, universal rules, and

      Islamic Stories for children
facts of nature to kids. I personally use to read for them these stories to raise their interest in reading and understanding the meanings of Qur’an for strong bonding.
Qur’an Is for every age and every aspect of life. So for children, it has many interesting things. It has all science, nature, and fiction topics for children.
This summer we decided to read these stories in a different way. And the outputs are really good.
We started our journey of learning Quran from the Ayat of the Quran about birds and animals and their benefits and relation with human beings.
      In surat-al-Baqara, Allah SWA says:-
…….and dispersing therein every [kind of] moving creature, and [His] directing of the winds and the clouds controlled between the heaven and the earth are signs for a people who use reason. (164)
Then we had a general look at the names of animals, birds, and insects mentioned in the Quran. And the list was very long.
So we made a list of them in three categories, that is Birds, animals, and Insects.. I will add the names of all of them in a related category.
Here I would like to recommend you to get ready for unexpected questions from the children. They asked many minds unlocking questions to me like;-
If the horse is also mentioned in the Quran?
If my name is also in the Quran?
Where is a list of things I will get in Heaven?
Honestly, children are more clever than elders.
      Three Birds Three Stories.
Children were interested in Birds. So we started from the stories of the birds, mentioned in the Quran. In the Quran Word ‘bird’ is mentioned 5 times and the word ‘birds’  occurs 13 times.
Three birds are mentioned with their names in the Quran.
In the Quran, We find many Ayaats about benefits and general
      information about the birds.
Allah SWT says about the Bird:-
“Do they not see the birds controlled in the atmosphere of the sky? None holds them up except Allah. Indeed in that are signs for a people who believe.”(Al-Nahal-79)
And Here are many other verses which invite us to look at birds and ponder the psychology of birds. We summed up all the verses of the Quran in a list and started our journey.
First of all, we made an outline of our field of storytelling sessions. We worked on this project in these steps.

      • Photography of some birds/nests in nature
      • Reading/listening stories
      • Marking the bird from the story
      • Numbering the benefits of Birds
      • Facts about that bird
      • The moral lessons of the Story (discussion)
      • Learning verses or just Dua(supplication) of the prophet.
      • Crafts/creative work(Shop here)

      Day 1. PhotoGraphy:-

Our First step was the photography of some birds and their nests from nature. That day was full of excitement. Nature, free time to spend outside and then finding birds and taking photos of them was the totally amazing experience of learning without getting bored.
Here are some photos of birds and nests, my young learners took.

Day2. Discussion About birds and their living style.

The next day we had a healthy discussion about the birds and their nests. How they make nests, what do they eat and how they fly. Life. The cycle of birds is also an interesting aspect of stories of the birds. We also discussed the airplane which flies like birds. Children were also wishing that They may also fly. And then I told them they may fly like a bird in a pursuit when they will grow up.
It was the time when I was able to make them realize that Humans are the best creature of Allah SWT in this universe.

      Day3. Benefits of the Birds.

Making the list of the benefits of the birds was also incredible work…
      We found these benefits;-`
      • They give us food
      • They eat insects so our world is saved from a huge quantity of insects.
      • They are also a natural source of spreading the seeds of some fruits and herbs from one to another place.
      • They also make our earth beautiful.
      • In the last, every bird has individual facts which will be described in three birds and their stories.
      Islamic stories for children

And then we entered into our next doorstep. And this level was labelling the birds mentioned in the Quran with the name. We found three Birds mentioned in the Quran named:-
      1. Crow  (Surat al Maida. In the story of Adam.A.S)
      2. Swallow(Ababeel)   ( Surat Al-Feel.  In the story of Elephants)
      3. Hud (Hoopoe) (Surat AL-Namal. In the story of Hazra Suleman A.S)

      Day4. Story telling

This was the day we started our story session.
We Started our 1st story that was the Story of Hz Adam A.S. Children are listening to these stories almost from the lap, so I tried to involve them in these stories. some important points and the morals of the stories were discussed in our storytelling session. Our focus was on the bird mentioned in That story to keep them interested in this story.

Day5. Facts of the Bird of each story.

Facts of that bird. Then we entered into the world of those birds and watched some videos about the facts of that bird. Children were happy because they got new information about the birds.

      Day 6.Crafts and creativity.

Now children have much knowledge and information. So in the end, some creative work and craftwork was done. video of easy nest craft is added now down.

You can also do it. If someone is much interest to get a collection of Ayats about birds and animals then leave a comment.
Soon I will publish the stories and individual work on every story and bird.
Now it’s your turn to let me know how much are you interested in getting my next story in the Quran with creative work and
