This Surah emphasizes the greatness of Allah’s creation and His ability to bring about different stages of human life. It begins by mentioning the fig and olive trees, symbolizing the blessings and provisions provided by Allah. Mount Sinai is also mentioned, highlighting the significance of divine revelation.

    Surah AT-Tin explanation:

    This surah of eight verses was revealed in Makkah and takes its
    title from the first word lat-Teenl which means fig.
    By The fig and the olive and Mount Sinai and this Safe Land11
    Al lah swears by these four things and says that He created man
    in the finest mold. The fig and the olive are well-known fruits. The fig
    and the olive offer an example of wholesome health-giving fruits.
    Mount Sinai is the place where Allah spoke to Prophet Musa, and the safe Landi is Makkah, where the Qur’an was first revealed.

    Al lah then says that He created man in the best image and
    form. He then reduced him to the lowest of the low; that is, Hellfire.
    After this attractiveness and beauty, the destination of those who disobeyed Allah will be Hellfire. However, those who believe in Allah
    and follow His guidance will not be among them; rather, they will
    have a reward without end. Some scholars said that the lowest of
    the low also means old age.
    This surah ends by asking about that which causes people to
    deny the Final Judgement.
    It is a fact that many of the worst criminals are not caught or
    punished in this life. Likewise, many God-fearing people who do their
    best in this life are not rewarded. Al lah will surely hand out exact justice to His creatures in the end!
    Is Al-lah not the Best of judges? This means Allah the Almighty is
    indeed the best of judges Who does not do any injustice to anyone.
    It is in absolute Justice that He will establish the Day of Judgement,
    and He will then reward the good people and punish the evil ones.

    • We encourage students to listen to a recitation of Surah Quraish to familiarize themselves with the Correct Tajweed.
    • We Emphasize correct pronunciation and Tajweed rules during the recitation.

    • We Break down Surah Alaq into manageable segments or verses for memorization. We have 2 classes every week. So 1 or 2 verses would be memorized every day. Children get much time to memorize surah during other activities.
    • We Teach the memorization of the surah using repetition, recitation practice through videos, and memorization techniques. We also teach recitation with tajweed in our Quran classes.
    • We Emphasize the importance of understanding the meaning of the verses while memorizing them to foster a deeper connection with the surah.

    There are 4 life goals that Allah emphasizes in this surah. We have learned from this surah that life is very short. We have to fulfill world duties, but for life hereafter is also. Our life should be spent on these purposes of life

    Activities:

    The last verse of the surah is the central subject of the surah. This verse is about the whole deen. In this surah Allah, Subhan was Tallah informed us of the strategies of a successful life in this world and hereafter. So we will understand this topic with two activities.

    We will have an experiment with ice blocks. We will make a target to fulfill a task before melting a small block of ice.

    Revision and Exercise:

    Children will tell word meanings with full translation. Then the introduction of the surah will be revised. And we will have a discussion on the lesson and practical things we started to follow after learning this surah. Exercises from the Islamic education book will be solved by the children themself.

    The first Surah reveald in Makkah on Prophet Muhammad SAW when he was 40 yrs old. This is a very important surah which was revealed in two parts. Both parts have different thems.

    Surah Alaq can be taught step by step using an approach that encompasses understanding the meaning of the verses and memorizing the surah. Here is a suggested teaching method for Surah Alaq:

    Step 1: Introduction and Background

    • Introduction: The first surah revealed, Surah Alaq is the 96th chapter (surah) of the Quran and is also known as “Iqra,” which means “Read” or “Recite.” It holds great importance as one of the earliest revelations received by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) during the early years of his prophethood.
    • This chapter marks a pivotal moment in the revelation of the Quran, introducing profound concepts and messages that continue to guide Muslims to this day.
    • Background: Surah Alaq was revealed in Makkah, prior to the migration (Hijrah) of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to Madinah. Verse 1 to 5 is the first revelation. During this period, the Prophet was meditating in the cave of Hira, contemplating the social and spiritual challenges of his community. It was during one such occasion in the month of Ramadan that the angel Jibril (Gabriel) descended upon him and commanded him to “Read” (Iqra).
    • The Prophet, who was unlettered and had not received any formal education, was initially taken aback by the command. However, he humbly responded,
    • “I am not able to read.”
    • The angel Jibril then embraced him tightly, and after releasing him, repeated the command to read. This interaction, believed to have occurred several times, resulted in the revelation of the first verses of Surah Alaq.
    • The revelation of Surah Alaq not only marked the beginning of the Prophet Muhammad’s (peace be upon him) prophethood but also emphasized the importance of seeking knowledge and the pursuit of education.
    • It instilled in the Muslim community a profound appreciation for learning, literacy, and the acquisition of wisdom.
    • The background of Surah Alaq verse 9 to 19 was revealed later. These verses are about Abu Jahal. It reflects the challenges faced by the Prophet during the early stages of his mission.
    • The pagan society of Makkah, deeply rooted in idolatry and unaware of the monotheistic teachings of Islam, presented significant obstacles to the spreading of the message.
    • However, the revelation of Surah Alaq and subsequent revelations served as a source of guidance, encouragement, and fortitude for the Prophet and his followers.
    • Understanding the introduction and background of Surah Alaq helps to contextualize the significance of this chapter and the transformative impact it had on the early Muslim community. It emphasizes the themes of seeking knowledge, the importance of literacy, and the profound spiritual journey that began with the command to “Read” (Iqra).

    Step 2: Recitation and Listening

For example, to teach them the importance of creation, we did an activity of seeding. So a been in a glass jar was grown by children. As humans were created by a clot.
    • We Facilitate a discussion about the significance of seeking knowledge, the consequences of arrogance, and the importance of humility in their lives. The example is clear, Animals and other creatures have very small knowledge so they can’t change their life. But humans are learning and making big changes in this world just because they have knowledge given by Allah.

    Step 5: Memorization

    • We Break down Surah Alaq into manageable segments or verses for memorization. We have 2 classes every week. So 1 or 2 verses would be memorized every day. Children get much time to memorise surah during other activities.
    • We Teach the memorization of the surah using repetition, recitation practice through videos , and memorization techniques.
    • We Emphasize the importance of understanding the meaning of the verses while memorizing them to foster a deeper connection with the surah.

    Step 6: Application and Integration

    • We encourage students to apply the teachings of Surah Alaq in their daily lives.
    • We Discuss practical ways to seek knowledge, practice humility, and avoid arrogance.
    • We encourage them to reflect on the lessons of Surah Alaq in their interactions with others, their studies, and their pursuit of personal growth.

    Step 7: Revision and Assessment

    Introduction of Surah-tu-Kafiron

    Surah-tu-Kafiron is 109th Surah in Quran. This surah is the surah with rejects all types of shirk. It teach us that , Allah is only one creator. It teaches us how to say no to disbelievers if they invite us for any type of compromise or deal?

    It was revealed, when the Makens were failed to stop spreading Islam. They tried many tricks to stothe p prophet Muhammad SAW to stop preaching Islam. But Islam was spreading day by day.

    In their attempt to earn the Prophet’s favour, the Quraysh people offered him riches, status, and beautiful women to marry if only he would stop preaching about Allah. When this did not work out, they proposed another solution. The Quraysh people told the Prophet that they will accept Allah as their god for one year and, in return, the Prophet (PBUH) will have to agree to pray to their gods in the next year.

    They offered that if what he brought was better, they will partake of it Allah is believed to be the one and only true god. And, the Quran is said to be a revelation from him. But Allah declared this was not acceptable deal. And you keep your Idols with you.

    1 write Word to word meanings on the book My First Quran with pictures. It makes sense. Connecting words with pictures make it easy for long-term memory.

    2. Take notes in your notebook. Children do write Arabic words before class or get printed and dispatch it with notes book.

    3. Write word meanings with an infographic in the notebook. It’s a bit time taking activity but for my students and me very interesting and help full.

    After learning the word meanings of Surah-tu-Kafiron, children continue to memorize surah verse by verse with meanings, They do write verses with translation and infographics, As children do use My first Quran with pictures book to translation with infographics.     Step 4 Tafseer and exercise, Discussion of Surah-tu-Kafiron

    The exercise was done. Where children recite sorah by heart with translation. Within this besides infographics were done verse by verse.

    Sorah KAFRON theme is to see the real picture about his/her Deen and Allah. We must never compromise on God or our religion. We have to be clear about this for the rest of our lives. Surah Al-Kafirun teaches people to be firm in their faith. It suggests that the true followers should neither sacrifice the teachings of Islam for anyone nor allow others to ruin their relationship with Allah.

    It consists of six ayat. It was revealed in Makkah.

    It is Sunnah to recite Surah-tu-Kafiron inSunnah prayer of Fajer and 2nd Rakah of witter. So today task is to memorize Surah-tu-Kafiron. We will also make a checklist to practice on it. In sha Allah.

    This Surah to teach on NOCHRISTMAS

    New Year and Christmas are on the way. This is the best way to teach Surat-tu-Kafiron to our children. Our two classes on this surah have been completed, Today is a day of discussion and overlook on this Surah. But did I told to you?

    What was the story I told to my students before starting this surah? The story was Why we should say NO to other gods? If one day someone would say to you, Please come to my place, I will give you a new mom, which would be more beautiful, more loving, she will fulfill your wishes, she would have more fun to do with you. But you have to leave your mother. what would be your answer?

    And if someone offers you to exchange his mom for one year. Would you like it? Of course the answer was We will never accept this offer. But she is more beautiful… No… She will have more fun… She will give you many yummy things…No. why Because we know she will not be our real mom.(It is true there is no example for Allah SWT)So this is what we should say when someone would invite us to make them happy, to attend the rituals of Non-Muslims, Even we should say no to the gifts of Non-Muslims like Prophet Salmon.

    We should deny Fake gods like Ibrahim AS… We should say No like Our Prophet SAW… Then in the Quran the picture there were shops of Idols. I asked them, can you imagine what it looks like? You can buy a good like shoes, a dress, your own colour your own choice. One child said it looks like a fish market…May Allah makes them a sadqa i jaria for all of us. Ameen.

    Step 1 Introduction of Sora

    It is believed in the Muslim tradition that the Surah-tu-Kafron (disbelievers) was revealed in the city of Makkah when the Quraysh leaders were still trying to gain the support of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). In their attempt to earn the Prophet’s favour, the Quraysh people offered him riches, status, and beautiful women to marry if only he would stop preaching about Allah. When this did not work out, they proposed another solution.

    The Quraysh people told the Prophet that they will accept Allah as their god for one year and, in return, the Prophet (PBUH) will have to agree to pray to their gods in the next year. They offered that if what he brought was better, they will partake of it Allah is believed to be the one and only true god. And, the Quran is said to be a revelation from him.

    Step 2 We did word to word translation and then Full Translation was done where pictures helped us understand the theme of Surah. So kids have been taught the meaning of words as well as the example were told that if someone asks you to give us your mother for a year and take ours, no matter how rich and beautiful the other’s mother may be You will never accept this option because Allah who loves us 70 times more than our real mother.

    Step 3 Next day we did some Tafseer from the Book”Islamic Studies” it is a great read to understand the background of the Sorah and the reality of Allah. It is one-fourth of the Quran: According to Abdullah Ibn Abbas and Anas Ibn Malik, if anyone recites the Surah of disbelievers, it would be like reading a Quran. It is Sunnah to recite Surah-ul-Kafiron in Sunnah prayer of Fajer and 2nd Rakah of Witter. So today’s task is to memorize Surah-ul-Kafiroon.

    The exercise was done. Where children recite sorah by heart with translation. within this besides infographics were done verse by verse.

    Then also a story and various activities are conducted along with it. The topic of surah-ul-Kafron is how to say no to disbelievers. So the story of Saba Queen was best. When she offered him gifts from non-believers which they offer them at their festivals. Kids have much enjoyed Saba queen’s story. SurahulKafron teaches how we should behave during non-Muslim festivals

    The children were told why they would not celebrate Christmas and how to reject their Christian friends.

    Step 1: Introduction of Surah-tu-zalzalah:

    Surah Zalzalah is 99 chapter of the Quran. It has 8 verses. It was revealed in Makkah.

    Surah Zalzalah, also known as “The Earthquake” in English, is a special chapter from the Quran, which is the holy book of Islam. It’s a short but powerful surah that teaches us important lessons about the Day of Judgment and the consequences of our actions.

    Imagine a time when the whole Earth shakes and trembles, like when you play with a toy and make it shake on purpose. Surah Zalzalah tells us about a time when the Earth will shake not because of a game but because of something very serious.

    In this surah, Allah, who Muslims believe is the Creator of everything, tells us about the events that will happen on the Day of Judgment. It’s like a big, important day when all people will be judged for their actions, both good and bad.

    Surah Zalzalah reminds us that even the tiniest of our actions, good or bad, will be shown to us. It’s like a movie where we get to see everything we did in our lives. If we do good things, it will make us happy, but if we do bad things, it will make us feel sad and regretful.

    So, this surah teaches us to be good, kind, and honest in our lives because, on the Day of Judgment, our actions will be like a big puzzle, and we want it to be full of good pieces. Just like we try to be the best we can be in school or when playing with our friends, we should also try to be the best we can be in our actions and deeds every day. That way, when the Earth shakes on the Day of Judgment, we’ll have a reason to smile because our puzzle will be full of goodness.

    Step 2: Word-to-Word Tajweed, recitation, Memorisation, Translation

    Verse 1:

    1. إِذَا (Izaa) – When
    2. زُلۡزِلَتِ (zulzilat) – The Earth is shaken
    3. الۡأَرۡضُ (al-ardu) – The Earth
    4. زِلۡزَالَهَا (zilzaalaha) – Its quake or earthquake

    Verse 2:

    1. وَأَخْرَجَتِ (Wa akhrajat) – And the Earth will bring forth
    2. الْأَرْضُ (al-ardu) – The Earth
    3. أَثْقَالَهَا (athqaalaha) – Its burdens or loads

    Verse 3:

    1. وَقَالَ (Wa qaalaa) – And man says
    2. الْإِنسَانُ (al-insaanu) – The human being
    3. مَا (maa) – What
    4. لَهَا (laha) – Is [wrong] with it

    Verse 4:

    1. يَوْمَئِذٍ (Yawma’ithin) – On that Day
    2. تُحَدِّثُ (Tuḥaddithu) – It will report/narrate
    3. أَخْبَارَهَا (Akhbārahā) – Its news or events

    Verse 5:

    1. يَوْمَئِذٍ (Yawma’ithin) – On that Day
    2. يَصْدُرُ (Yaṣḍuru) – People will depart/emerge
    3. النَّاسُ (annāsu) – The people
    4. أَشْتَاتًا (Ash’tātan) – In scattered groups
    5. لِيُرَوْاْ (Li-yuraw) – To be shown

    Verse 6

    1. بِأَنَّ (Bi-anna) – Because
    2. رَبَّكَ (Rabbaka) – Your Lord
    3. أَوْحَىٰ (Awḥā) – Has inspired/revealed
    4. لَهَا (Lahā) – To it (referring to the Earth)

    Verse 7:

    1. فَمَن (Faman) – So whoever
    2. يَعْمَلْ (Ya’mal) – Does
    3. مِثْقَالَ (Mithqāla) – An atom’s weight
    4. ذَرَّةٍ (Tharratin) – Of an atom/small particle
    5. خَيْرًا (Khayran) – Good
    6. يَرَهُۥ (Yarahu) – Will see it

    Verse 8:

    1. وَمَن (Wa-man) – And whoever
    2. يَعْمَلْ (Ya’mal) – Does
    3. مِثْقَالَ (Mithqāla) – An atom’s weight
    4. ذَرَّةٍ (Tharratin) – Of an atom/small particle
    5. شَرًّا (Sharran) – Evil
    6. يَرَهُۥ (Yarahu) – Will see it

    Step 3: Verse-by-verse Tafsir of Surah Zalzalah (The Earthquake) according to Ibn Kathir:

    Verse 1: زُلْزِلَتِ الْأَرْضُ زِلْزَالَهَا

    Translation: “When the earth is shaken with its [final] earthquake.”

    Tafsir Ibn Kathir: In this verse, Ibn Kathir explains that it refers to the earth’s final shaking, which will happen on the Day of Judgment. This shaking will be extremely powerful and will result in momentous events, causing everything on the earth to change. It signifies the end of the world as we know it.

    Verse 2: وَأَخْرَجَتِ الْأَرْضُ أَثْقَالَهَا

    Translation: “And the earth discharges its burdens.”

    Tafsir Ibn Kathir: Ibn Kathir explains that this verse means that the earth will reveal all the deeds, good and bad, that were buried within it. Every person’s actions and their consequences will become evident on the Day of Judgment, and nothing will remain hidden.

    Verse 3: وَقَالَ الإِنسَـنُ مَا لَهَا

    Translation: “And man says, ‘What is [wrong] with it?’ -“

    Tafsir Ibn Kathir: Ibn Kathir notes that this verse portrays the reaction of human beings on that day when they witness the extraordinary events unfolding. People will be astounded and bewildered by the drastic changes in the earth’s state, and they will question what has happened.

    Verse 4: يَوْمَئِذٍۢ تُحَدِّثُ أَخْبَـرَهَا

    Translation: “That Day, it will report its news”

    Tafsir Ibn Kathir: Ibn Kathir explains that on the Day of Judgment, the earth will bear witness to all that has occurred on its surface, including the deeds of mankind. It will “report its news” by revealing the actions and events that took place on it, testifying to the truth of Allah’s judgment.

    Verse 5: بِأَنَّ رَبَّكَ أَوْحَىٰ لَهَا

    Translation: “Because your Lord has commanded it.”

    Tafsir Ibn Kathir: Ibn Kathir mentions that the earth will narrate its news and disclose everything due to the command of Allah. It is a divine decree that all that was hidden will be exposed on the Day of Judgment.

    Verse 6: يَوْمَئِذٍۢ يَصْدُرُ ٱلنَّاسُ أَشْتَـٰٓءَ لِيُرَوْا۟ أَعْمَـٰلَهُمْ

    Translation: “That Day, the people will depart separated [into categories] to be shown [the result of] their deeds.”

    Tafsir Ibn Kathir: Ibn Kathir explains that on that Day, people will be separated into groups based on their deeds. They will witness the consequences of their actions, whether good or bad. This is a day of judgment and recompense.

    Verse 7: فَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَـٰلَ ذَرَّةٍۢ خَيْرًۭا يَرَهُۥ

    Translation: “So whoever does an atom’s weight of good will see it,”

    Tafsir Ibn Kathir: Ibn Kathir emphasizes that even the smallest deeds, whether good or bad, will be brought forth on that Day. If someone has performed even the tiniest amount of good, they will see its reward.

    Verse 8: وَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَـٰلَ ذَرَّةٍۢ شَرًّۭا يَرَهُۥ

    Translation: “And whoever does an atom’s weight of evil will see it.”

    Tafsir Ibn Kathir: Ibn Kathir concludes that similarly, the smallest evil deed will also be shown to its doer on the Day of Judgment. No action, no matter how small, will go unnoticed, and everyone will be held accountable for their deeds.

    This Tafsir by Ibn Kathir helps us understand the deeper meanings and implications of each verse in Surah Zalzalah, especially in the context of the Day of Judgment and the consequences of our actions.

    Step 4: Verse-by-verse discussion in class

    How earthquake will shake the earth? So this day has no example but making it easy I asked them to imagine, what we do when we eat snacks or chips when it gets finished. We do shake it and try to bring out the last piece of it even spices.

    Same as that earth would be shaken to bring out every burden of it. There would be two important things, humans and hidden treasures of the earth. so men will see gold, jewels, and minerals but they will not look over them.

    When it says “the earth will bring out its burden,” it means that on the Day of Judgment, the Earth will show all the things it has witnessed. Just like when you open a treasure chest to see what’s inside, the Earth will reveal all the good and bad things people have done on it.

    So, if someone does something nice, like planting a tree or helping a friend, the Earth will show it. But if someone does something bad, like littering or being mean, the Earth will also reveal that. It’s like the Earth keeping a record of everything, and on the Day of Judgment, it shares that record with everyone. This helps in deciding what happens to each person based on their actions.

    So no charm for wealth is that day, even if a robber would see, he will regret doing wrong deeds for these useless things.
    Then men who died from the first human to last will ask what is the matter? Same as in a deep sleep, if someone shakes us awake we will get terrified and ask… what is happening?
    The imagination of the Day of Judgment.
    Two groups of people. Good doers and wrongdoers. Everyone will see his action of Atom’s weight. The important thing is that reward or punishment is not mentioned.

    But A very good person would be shown the smallest bad action of his life. And wrongdoers will be shown the smallest good actions as well.
    Now, what is Atom’s weight? ذَرَّةٍ 
    Here is an example. We know there is dust and germs in our atmosphere. Sitting in a room in normal light no one can see. But if sunlight from the window enters our room, we observe a massive quantity of dust around us. And this dust could be seen when our furniture gets dirty.

    So Same dust we all have some small good and bad actions. To see them we should get the light of knowledge. Or they would be shown to us on the day of judgment.

    Step 5:Various activities to teach this surah:

    Teaching Surah Zalzalah (The Earthquake) to children can be made engaging and fun through various activities. Here are some creative ideas:( Pictures of all activities are in the Gallery)

    1. Infographics: Create simple infographics with visuals and short explanations to illustrate the key concepts and lessons of Surah Zalzalah. Use colorful drawings and symbols to make it visually appealing and easy to understand. ( Pictures of infographics made by our students are in the gallery. We Used ‘My first quran with Picture’ book for the infographic)
    2. Crafting: Craft activities can help reinforce the message of the Surah. For example, create a diorama of the Day of Judgment with tiny figurines and a shaking Earth. You can also make “good deed” and “bad deed” jars where children write or draw actions on pieces of paper and place them in the appropriate jar.
    3. Storytelling: Narrate a story related to the Surah to make it more relatable for children. You can tell a story about a character who did good deeds and another character who did bad deeds, and then discuss the consequences of their actions.

    Abu Lahab showed enmity with Holy prophet SAW Just because the teachings were against His fake gods. He was Rich. He had many children .He was proud was proud. So in his pride, he misbehaved. He dusted his hands to look down him. He is the only person in Quran who is cursed with his name in this way. And his wife as well because His wife was partner of his mission.

    So Allah promised that both will be punished.1. His hands would be ruined.2. He and his wife would be ruined.3. They would be blazing fire.4. Fibber rope would be in their neck. And his pride, his wealth and sons will not help him……. it is the saddest moment

    From Book ;My first Quran picture book; we do word to word Translation. For word to word translation we also use ms word. So that children can note and memorize the meanings of every word. In the pictures below you can see the class work done by students as well.

    Step 3 : Translation and discussion of Surah-tu-Lahab

    In this step, we do a full translation of every verse with the help of the pictures in the book. It’s very easy for students to understand the verses with the help of pictures. I really admire the author of this book. When we do a discussion on every verse we discuss some incidents from our life.

    We also discuss the do’s and don’t according to the them and lessons we draw from the verses. For example, Abu Lahab dusted his hand in pride. He had many children and was very rich. So for students, it was time to ponder the value of powers. He had men’s power and wealth power. But nothing helped him. So Allah SWT says, whatever a man earns could not help him.

    Step4 : Tafseer of Surah-tu-Lahab

    We had a deep study on the story and surah from Islamic studies book chapter 30.. Here are some key points noted from the book. Surah-tu-Lahab is a Makki Surah. It has 5 verses. It was revealed after misbehaved of Abu Lahab on mount AS-Safa. When Allah SWT order his PromembersAW to call his family/Tribe member toward Islam. Abue Lahab and his wife left no stone to make the life of Prophet miserable. Hence he ordered his two sons to divorce their wives the daughters of Prophet Muhammad SAW.

    Step 5 Storytelling

    Surah-tu-Lahab is a story of pride of Abue Lhaba. A story of two brothers (Habil and Qabil) from ‘My first Quran story book’ was told about pride/jealousy and hate. This story is about the sons of Adam AS, Habeel and Qabeel. So the result was same. Severe punishment was for Qabeel who was the son of a prophet as well as for Abue Lhab who was the uncle of Holy Prophet. No one can escape from the punishment of doing wrong. The examples of the Sons of Noah AS and Loot As and Father of Ibraheem is also narrated in Quran. My students learned big lessons from the stories.

    Abu lahab was a symbol of pride. He was proud to be wealthy and he had many sons , so he was also pride on his men power. As well as his status was also reason of his pride. So here is a story, which is also according to our topic.

    Step 5 Infographic of Surah-tu-Lahab

    Infographic helps in memorizing translation and its also good for long-term memory. With the help of drawings, children draw images of the Qur’an in their hands but hearts and minds. Which is the favorite activity of the children.

    Step 6 Mind map of Surah-tu-Lahab

    So we do mind map after completing the Surah. We collect our information and points from the Surah to make mind map. We also do use mind maps from LiveIslam.org here are some points from the mind map.

    Surah-tu-Lahab is makki surah. It has 5 verses. Its theme is pride, jealousy and sever punishment for wrong doors. So cursed people are also mentioned in the Quran.

    Step 7 Exercise/revision of Surah-tu-Laha

    Exercise from the Islamic studies book was done . Final worksheet like a lap book was also done. The translation was revised and listened by students. Memorisation Task of this surah was also completed During these classes. done.

    Alhamdolilah, children learned new Arabic words, Learned lessons from the life of Habeel and Qabeel and from the Seerah stories about Abu lehab and About our Prophet’s teaching style when He SAW called his peoples from Al-Sufa Mountain.

    Introduction of Surah Al-Qaria

    Surah Al-Qari’ah is the 101st chapter of the Qur’an, the holy book of Islam. It is a relatively short surah, consisting of 11 verses. The word “Al-Qari’ah” translates to “The Striking Hour” or “The Catastrophe” in English.

    The surah begins with a vivid description of the Day of Judgment, emphasizing the tremendous impact it will have on all of creation. It highlights the profound consequences and the ultimate accountability of every individual for their deeds in this world. The surah serves as a reminder of the transient nature of life and the importance of preparing for the afterlife.

    Surah Al-Qari’ah addresses the universal concept of divine justice, explaining that every person’s deeds, no matter how small or insignificant they may seem, will be weighed and evaluated on the Day of Judgment. The surah emphasizes the importance of righteous deeds and warns against the consequences of neglecting one’s spiritual responsibilities.

    It also illustrates the contrast between those whose good deeds outweigh their bad deeds, leading to success and eternal happiness, and those whose bad deeds outweigh their good deeds, resulting in a loss and eternal punishment. The surah concludes by emphasizing the perpetual existence of Paradise and Hellfire as the ultimate destinations for human souls.

This is a step-by-step guide of Surah AL-Qaria with word meanings and tafsir and various activities.

    Verse by Verse Translation

    Verse 1: “The Striking Hour has come!”

    Verse 2: “What is the Striking Hour?”

    Verse 3: “And what can make you know what the Striking Hour is?”

    Verse 4: “It is a Day when people will be like scattered moths,”

    Verse 5: “And the mountains will be like fluffed wool.”

    Verse 6: “Then as for the one whose scales are heavy [with good deeds],”

    Verse 7: “He will have a pleasant life.”

    Verse 8: “But as for the one whose scales are light,”

    Verse 9: “His refuge will be an abyss.”

    Verse 10: “And what can make you know what that is?”

    Verse 11: “It is a Fire, intensely hot.”

    This verse-by-verse translation provides a basic understanding of Surah Al-Qari’ah. It is important to note that the full interpretation and deeper meanings of the surah can be further explored through studying the context, teachings, and commentary from Islamic scholars.

    Step by Step teaching method of Surah Al-Qaria

    Step 1. Recitation and Introduction of Sura Al-Qari’ah

    Al-Qari’ah is the name of the Day of Judgement. The purpose revelation of this surah is that it will be revealed to the infidels of Makkah to keep away from their stubbornness and unjustified behavior which was the biggest obstacle to their conversion to Islam. This story is a picture of the day of judgment. It tells how the action scaled would be scaled.

    Step 2. Word-to-word Translation

    We start Surah with recitation and then we do word-to-word translation. With the picture book we explain the verses and do some activities. so We do word to word translation in 2 or 3 days. So that we can do other activities during this. Children have to start memorizing the surah and word meanings step by step.

    Step 3. Infographic and Full translation sura Qari’aa‘.

    During verse by verse translation children also do infographics. During this surah first they drew the resurrection scene in two parts. And then action scale and their reward.

    Infographic helps in memorizing translation and its also good for long term memory.

    With the help of drawings, children draw images of the Qur’an in their hands but hearts and minds. Which is the favorite activity of the children.

    Step 4. Chapter of Sura/Tafseer For kids

    Then we did a chapter of surah for detailed commentary of Surah Qari’a. We have already done some tafseer with the picture book during word-to-word translation. Now we just read and explain a bit more.

    Children were eager to know about the day of judgement when their good and bad deeds would be scaled. How big would be action book? How people would react? How body parts will speak? Where people would be gathered.

    There were a lot of questions from the children. In the chapter on surah we also get some points to make mind map.

    Step 5. Discussion/exercise

    On this day, We recite and complete memorization. Because the lesson that is memorized by repetition is imprinted in the subconscious of the children forever.

    We do revision of word-to-word translation, Tafseer and the topic of the surah again and then we do exercises related the sora Qari’a from book۔

    In storytime a story ‘Musa A.S ad burning bush was told to the children. The purpose of the selecting this story was to strength their faith on the day of judgment. Children would learn that standing in front of Allah is not unbelievable.

    Even in this world, Prophet happened to talk with Allah. So we will also stand in front of Allah with our actions. Another story ‘Prophet Uzayr’s donkey was Also told. This story was related with the belief that how we will be alive again after death.

    Step 7. Activities we did in the class

    During the all lessons of the Surah we did some activities. Like….

    Activity 1. Paper activity to explain verse no 4. Small pieces of paper were placed on their palms. Then they blow those pieces. What happens? All the pieces were scattered here and there.

    The purpose of this activity was to tell the children that on the Day of Resurrection, people will scattered like those papers.

    Activity 2. This activity was making a craft or drawing to show the lightness of heavy, high mountains. The mountains would fly like fluffed cotton. So we used cotton to show how mountains would look like that day.

    Activity 3. Actions scale was prepared. And children had to add their good and bad deeds for a week. And end the of the week they got their action scale. Now they were able to judge which scale is heavy

    Step 8. Mind map of the Sorah Qari’a۔

    So we do mind map after completing the Surah. We collect our information and points from the Surah to make mind map. We also do use mind maps from LiveIslam.org here are some points from the mind map. Theme of this sorah is the preparation of the Day of Judgement. This surah consists of eleven verses.

    Surah Al-Qari’ah is a Makki Surah that was revealed before the Hijrah .(The children were made to understand that there is a difference between Maki and Madani Qur’an So our leading scholars say that the Makki Qur’an is that which was revealed before the migration and madni Quran after the migration. )
