Introduction:

Quraish: The name of the tribe of Quraish
- لِإِيلَٰفِ (Li-ilāfi): For the accustomed security of
- قُرَيْشٍ (Quraysh): Quraish
- إِيلَٰفِهِمْ (Ilaafihim): Their accustomed security
- رِحْلَةَ (Rihlata): The caravan
- الشِّتَاءِ (Al-shitā’i): Of winter
- وَٱلصَّيْفِ (Wa-al-ṣayfi): And summer
- فَلْيَعْبُدُوا (Falyaʿbudū): So let them worship
- رَبَّ هَٰذَا ٱلْبَيْتِ (Rabba hādha al-bayti): The Lord of this House
- ٱلَّذِيٓ أَطْعَمَهُم (Alladhī atʿamahum): Who has fed them
- مِن جُوعٍ (Min jūʿin): From hunger
- وَءَامَنَهُمْ (Wa-ʾāmanahum): And made them safe
- مِّنْ خَوْفِ (Min khawfin): From fear
Verse by verse Tafsir (interpretation) of Surah Quraish:
Verse 1: “For the accustomed security of the Quraish.”
This verse acknowledges the special care and protection Allah granted to the Quraish tribe, providing them with a sense of peace and security. It is said that the Quraish enjoyed peace and safety due to their role as the custodians of the Kaaba, the sacred house of worship in Makkah.
Verse 2: “Their accustomed security [in] the caravan of winter and summer.”
This verse emphasizes the safe travels of the Quraish during their winter and summer journeys for trade. It highlights their ability to conduct business without fear of attacks or disruptions during these seasons.
Verse 3: “So let them worship the Lord of this House.”

Teaching method of Surah Quraish step by step:
Introduction, Recitation and Tajweed:
- First of all, an introduction to Surah with a short history of the Arab traveling system and their profession would be provided to the students. Arab traditions, the robbery system, Quraish’s nobility in Arabs, and the house of Allah will be introduced to children. A short introduction has been provided above.
- We encourage students to listen to a recitation of Surah Quraish to familiarize themselves with the Correct Tajweed.
- We Emphasize correct pronunciation and Tajweed rules during the recitation.
- We provide word-by-word Tajweed and Recitation videos with word meanings> (Visit channel for videos)
Tafsir of Surah Quraish with infographics:
- We Break down the meaning of each verse, explaining the concepts and ideas conveyed in Surah Quraish. For this purpose, we Read the book ‘My first quran with Pictures’. This book has beautiful infographics that help students understand every verse’s theme.
- We translate the surah into the student’s easy English, ensuring they understand the message being conveyed.
- We use Tafsir resources or explanations by scholars to provide deeper insights into the context and interpretations of the verses. Islamic education books by Molvi Abdul Aziz have excellent short tafsir for children, which is very easy to read and understand. ( Pictures in Gallery)
Story telling:
- Storytelling is a basic part of our teaching style.
- ”A gentle reminder” is a story about a reflection of Surah Quraish designed by 121 Islam for kids
- We can collect stories of the creations,
- The story of Qaroon is the best story to tell about the prosperity and pride of mankind.
Reflection and Discussion:
- We encourage students to reflect on the lessons and guidance offered in Surah Quraish. For this purpose, we do some practical work. For example, to teach them to be grateful to Allah we can count fruits and vegetables of various kinds in Summer and winter. Same that an activity on import and export business which provide us a variety of products.
- We Facilitate a discussion about the significance of worshiping our lord. 5 Pillers of Islam and haj o Umra are the obligatory acts of worshiping Allah, as well as we can learn a dua or zikr for Tasbeeh purposes. ( Pictures in Gallery)
Memorization:
- We Break down Surah Alaq into manageable segments or verses for memorization. We have 2 classes every week. So 1 or 2 verses would be memorized every day. Children get much time to memorize surah during other activities.
- We Teach the memorization of the surah using repetition, recitation practice through videos, and memorization techniques. We also teach recitation with tajweed in our Quran classes.
- We Emphasize the importance of understanding the meaning of the verses while memorizing them to foster a deeper connection with the surah.
Application and Integration:
- We encourage students to apply the teachings of Surah Quraish in their daily lives.
- We Discuss practical ways to seek knowledge, practice humility, and avoid arrogance.
- We encourage them to reflect on the lessons of Surah Quraish in their interactions with others, their studies, and their pursuit of personal growth.

Revision and Assessment
- We Conduct regular revision sessions to reinforce the memorization of Surah Quraish
- We Assess students’ understanding of the surah through quizzes, discussions, or written assignments.
- We Provide opportunities for students to recite Surah Quraish in class one by one. Every student gets a chance to recite and participate in reading word meanings and discussions to build confidence in their recitation and memorization skills.
Actvities:
- We include various activities during our lessons.
- We encourage students to do crafting, drawing, and practicals according to the lessons
- For Surah Quraish, we did an activity to make a craft of Kabah. We also encourage our students to make a drawing of the summer and winter seasons and travels if they do during vacations. For elder students, a short traveling story could be written.
- Another activity was About making a list of foods, vegetables, and fruits of the world.
